STARR Masters 2001-2002 Duke of Denver WINNER!!! What is the Duke of Denver? The Duke of Denver competition is a yearly Drag King competition held at 60 SOUTH. The participants compete for an in house title known as the "Duke of Denver". The Duke is a liason for 60 SOUTH and the many charitable organization that The KINGZ and 60 SOUTH hold benefits for over the course of a year. It is the winners responsibility to organize and produce three benefits a year for organizations of their choice. They also perform around Colorado at other benefits held by local GLBT organizations.
VALENTINO Duke of Denver 2000-2001 Valentino has his own site for more photos. ( see links)			This years competition was EXCELLENT! The show was anchored by a fabulous performance from the legendary King Leigh Crow a.k.a. "Elvis Herselvis" ( see the photo below). She flew in from San Francisco to play with the boys from Denver. The competition was intense, the boys were in top form, and the performances were spectacular. The show played to a standing room only, drag king loving, sold out crowd for the second year in a row. After being crowned "DUKE OF DENVER 2000", Valentino immediately offered an encore performance to cap off an electric night. The Duke of Denver competition is open to all Kings in the Denver area, and takes place every October.
VALENTINO Valentino is fairly new to the king scene, but a very welcome addition to the KINGZ family. Valentino began performing at the Wednesday night weekly 60 SOUTH KINGZ shows in July 2000, he quickly won the hearts of the audience, The KINGZ and the owners of 60 SOUTH, with his fabulous attitude and his dedication to presenting flawless performances. He impressed the judges at this years DUKE OF DENVER competition and brought in a huge crowd of followers to cheer him on. 60 SOUTH is proud to have Valentino representing the title this year. Elvis Herselvis with Joie Leigh opened the Duke of Denver 2000 competition held at 60 SOUTH with a captivating performance. 60 SOUTH flew Leigh in all the way from San Francisco for the show. Leigh Crow is a San Francisco based theater actress. Catch Leigh in the Rock 'n' Roll drag show, "Catch and Roll"...or performing with her bands The Whoa Nellies and Flat Cracker.
